This is as good a picture as I could get. I have no idea what it is, but it’s gorgeous

Tatra something?
![]() 04/25/2016 at 13:51 |

Tatra T87 or maybe an earlier T77, if the reflection I see in the picture is a fin or a Tatra 600 if the reflection is a window:

That’s a mini in the foreground, but I assume you’re asking about that grainy, underexposed area in the garage....

Yup, I got as good a picture I could from where I was, which was terrible

It’s front-engined, but the tail does look Tatra-ish

First Saab, I believe - the 92:

It's not a fin, similar tail but this one was front-engined

How do we all feel about 1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Berlinetta?
![]() 04/25/2016 at 13:59 |

We feel horny about it. Unless you mean how we feel about whether it’s the one in the picture.

Chrysler Airflow Coupe? Or one of the many other, often coachbuilt, streamliner cars of the 30's.

It’s a 1930's Alfa. That three-light centre brake light/tail light/signal light cluster is your giveaway. Can’t find the exact car but it was at pebble beach maybe 5-7 years ago. Not a Tatra.

I think this is the best guess yet.

That’s quite similar, but this one is a bit shorter and has some other differences like no wheel covers or skirts on the rear, and a different hood. But that's quite close

Not the right car, but you can see the same tail light arrangement here:

Thanks! McMike found something really close, if I’m back there today and have time I’ll stop in and ask the guys at the shop/take better pictures

I think it is some coach built variation of 1930s Alfa, probably based on a 6C2300 Coupé:

Looks like it's a 30s Alfa, I just have to find out which 30s Alfa

It’s very nice. It’s worth several million. It’s got the right tail light cluster. And it’s not the car in the garage. It’s missing a crease going from a little to one side of the rear window down to the plate.

Afraid not. Wrong tail lights.

Oh the wheels and front end look the closest so far. It's like the front of that car, and the back of the 8C that McMike posted

You were right. It’s an Alfa - This is the one you mentioned. 8C 2900B Lungo Berlinetta

The ‘Normal’ Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo maybe:

Minus the ragtop thing, that looks like it. Maybe...the back end might be more sloped. Could just be a different coach builder, but also an 8C 2900B

Seems about right:
It was more recently owned by David Cohen for 25 years; he used it in local rallies in East London, South Africa, before moving it to Vancouver, Canada

That does look plausible.

Bang on. Nice work.

I’m just glad it had that single rear light assembly. We would have NEVER guessed it otherwise.. :)
